Colo River Valley Wines ~ Release Notes: |
|
This 2003 vintage Shiraz won the Hawkesbury
Agricultural Wine Show prize in April 2004 for the best dry red wine.
The winemaker is Professor Geoff Skurray at the Richmond Campus of the
University of Western Sydney.
Made from 100% estate grapes from the Jojo's Jetty Vineyard on the Colo
River, the wine enjoyed 12 months in American Oak prior to bottling. The
rich colour and long classic Shiraz grape palate are unusually advanced
for this still young vintage wine.
The wine is to be enjoyed now, but can also be expected to improve in the
bottle for a considerable time to come.
Note: The vineyard is in the Sydney Wine Region approximately 1˝ hours'
drive north west of Sydney and south of the Hunter Valley.
