Background: |
Clarissa is named after Clarissa’s Vineyard, one of the
twenty vineyards that made up the original Tizzana Estate. Dr. Thomas
Fiaschi grew Hermitage (Shiraz) and Petit Verdot grapes in this vineyard
which he named after his first daughter born in 1885. The 2004 Clarissa is
a dry red blend made from hand-picked Petit
Verdot (50%), Shiraz (45%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (5%) grapes. |
Tasting Notes: |
The aroma of the wine shows plum, blackcurrant, vanilla and peppery notes. A medium bodied wine with an excellent integration of
both grape and oak tannins. Will benefit with at least three to five years
of cellaring. |
